Go Ave 26 Community Walk

Join us on Saturday, September 23 for a walk highlighting pedestrian improvements and transit connectivity, as part of LA Más's Go Ave 26 project, funded by TransitCenter.

We will explore Lincoln Heights and Cypress Park on foot, looking at crossing conditions and other pedestrian safety and street design features, sidewalks, and transit connectivity.

Meeting at 10am, in front of Lincoln/Cypress Station, we will head out to see the nearby the Go Ave 26 pedestrian signage and sidewalk markings by LA Más, connecting to nearby North Figueroa.

From there, we will walk to the nearby LA River, taking note of sidewalk conditions along the way to the new Riverside roundabout. At the roundabout, we will see the recently installed egg sculpture by LA artists Greenmeme.

From there, we will head south along Ave 19 and the LA River, passing the abandoned Lincoln Heights Jail, a historic building soon to be redeveloped as an adaptive reuse housing project.

We will stop for a break at the Ed P. Reyes Greenway, and from there head up Humbolt to see a more industrial section of Lincoln Heights. We will make our way across the narrow pedestrian bridge over the 110 freeway, arriving back in Cypress Park for coffee and a snack at Antigua Coffee House.

After coffee, we will return to Lincoln/Cypress Station, having seen the many neighborhood sites that we can connect to from the Gold Line on foot.
