On Sunday, November 18 at 3pm, Southern California Families for Safe Streets, a project of Los Angeles Walks, will mark International World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
The group, made up of individuals who each lost a loved one in a traffic collision or survived a serious crash, invites you to join them for a convening to celebrate the lives of those lost or seriously injured on the streets of greater Los Angeles.
SoCal Families for Safe Streets welcomes everyone to participate on November 18, especially those impacted by dangerous street design and reckless driving in Southern California. Join in ceremonies from different cultures and traditions, and help to create a display that conveys the scale of this public health problem. Refreshments (including s'mores) will be included.
Members of SoCal Families for Safe Streets channel their grief into action, and advocate for smarter street design, slower speeds, and safer behavior -- all in order to prevent other families from experiencing the tremendous loss or life-altering injuries they have.
If you have lost a loved one or if you were involved in a serious collision, please submit your contact info here.
Enter LA State Historic Park at Spring St. and Ann St. (across the street from 1318 N Spring St.). Follow the path to the "Roundhouse" fire pit.
