It's time to make protecting human life Priority #1 on LA city streets. It's time for the City of Los Angeles to unapologetically re-commit to Vision Zero - the City's effort to end traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2025.
On Friday, November 17th, Los Angeles Walks, the LA Vision Zero Alliance, and SoCal Families for Safe Streets will gather outside City Hall East for #inourshoes, an art installation and participatory experience to mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. JOIN US.
#Inourshoes will recognize and remember the more than 500 people who have died in traffic crashes since August 2015, when Los Angeles launched Vision Zero. The event asks participants to imagine themselves as a victim or family member of the thousands of people impacted by traffic collisions every year in Los Angeles, and serves as the initial event in World Day of Remembrance weekend in Los Angeles.
#InOurShoes will also offer a space to honor your loved ones who have been impacted by traffic collisions and to honor Southern California Families for Safe Streets. Bring yellow flowers, photos, and other mementos to share.
We welcome all to bring a pair of shoes to contribute to the art exhibit. (All shoes will be donated after the event.)
